As Network Administrator, I am responsible for all aspects of IT/MIS at the Ft Meade, MD location. Picerne currently has offices in several states, including Rhode Island, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida and Arizona. These offices are all part of a VoIP network that we have implemented using MPLS circuits as the trunks between each office. On a day to day basis, I maintain and configure the local and remote VoIP systems. We also have a Tandberg Video conference center at four of the offices nationwide. I also participate in configuring and maintaining these systems. In addition these duties, I am co-chair of the Security Team for the entire company. Also co-chair of SMS Team, responsible for implementing and managing Microsoft Systems Management Server across the entire company.

Working at Picerne Military Housing has allowed me to increase my skills and knowledge as it encompasses all aspects of IT/MIS support, operations and management. AIMS, Inc, Monroe LA: Systems Engineer (04/00 - present)

I support and administer 210+ servers in remote locations. Install and configure UNIX, Windows 2000 Pro, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 98, Terminal Server, VPN Server, Routing and Remote Access Server, DNS, WINS, and DHCP along with various productivity software, utility software.

Configure systems for remote administration using serial modems and Internet connections. Maintain system security and intrusion detection.

Research, recommend, and install new software and hardware solutions

UNIX shell scripting. Basic CISCO router configuration.

While working with AIMS, I have increased sales by developing new solutions for our clients, identifying areas that can be streamlined to increase productivity, and educating clients on the benefits of newer technology. Due to some of the changes I have made, our clients have been able to reduce their billing time by as much as 200%. I have also increased the level of security for our clients while allowing them more freedom to accomplish their tasks.

ISPA, Gordon GA: Tech Support Supervisor (02/99 - 01/00)

Support and administer in-house workstations and servers.

Install and configure Windows 98, email programs (Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora), Internet browsers, dialup networking connections, DSL, ISDN, and wireless links.

Design and implement procedures for troubleshooting.

Without a doubt, this was the most educational job I have ever held. Working in Internet Tech Support on the front lines should be required for any System Admin/LAN Admin. This is where I learned how to troubleshoot a problem, and use a logical procedure to determine the cause of the problem. I was also able to contribute to the company by decreasing the average length of a call by educating the techs and encouraging them to work the problem, instead of letting the problem work them.

In my off time, I enjoy working on my 3-D art, (you can find examples on this website), website design, reading, listening to music, traveling, and learning. Some day I hope to be able to travel to England and Egypt with my fiancé to visit the castles and Pyramids. As a child I was fortunate enough to be able to live overseas in Okinawa, Japan and Rota, Spain, which I am grateful for. I enjoyed the exposure to different cultures and traditions.
